     May 3, 2020: NOW POSTPONED: Anamosa Fire Department’s Annual Pancake Breakfast, at the fire station, 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m., serving pancakes, eggs, whole hog sausage, and drinks.

     The Le Mars Fire-Rescue Department was called at 9:17 a.m., Friday, Mar. 27, to Premium Feed and Grain at 205 Elm St. in Brunsville.

    In my full-time occupation, I am a power lineman. I work as the director of safety for the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives. Several times a year we have incidents involving equipment contacting powerlines. These generally will result in damage to equipment, but tragically some will result in injury to people.

     West Point’s Police Department responded to two accidents on US-275 in West Point last week.

     The first happened at about 1 p.m. last Wednesday, Mar. 25, at the intersection of the highway and 13th Street.

     An accident with a wood burning stove caused the destruction of a home and a vehicle north of the Darr Feedlot on Friday, Mar. 20.

     Around 3 p.m. the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Road 759, northeast of the Darr Feedlot, in reference to a house which was on fire.

Madison and Wentworth firefighters responded to a structure fire on Lake Madison on March 13. The structure was fully involved upon arrival so the main concern was to protect exposures and to make sure nothing else was lost.

     Good afternoon, evening or whatever time of day you are reading this. It is that time of year when the weather changes, it seems like every few minutes and it’s not changing for the better.

Cooler weather

     Good day Kansas Fire Service. As I write this, we are moving into the cooler weather of winter. We started with some early snow in late October in many areas of the state.

     Minnesota Firefighters, Time to wrap it up! As this newspaper hits your mailboxes, I will have about a month left in my fire career. That’s right! I’m calling it quits at the end of the year.

Time to renew!

     2020 membership dues invoices were recently been mailed out. Due date for payment is Feb. 1, 2020. In 2019 we had 591 member departments and in 2018 we had 561.
