     I recently heard this quote. I am uncertain who it came from so I will list it as an unknown source. I would like to use it as this month’s training drill. In emergency services we are faced with a multitude of “challenges”. Here is a list from my department past 24 months.

     Fire season has arrived for the year in Nebraska and local fire chiefs have begun requesting observation flights to detect possible wildfires as soon after lightning strikes as possible.

     The Scenic Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported wildland fire in the 24000 block of Sage Creek Rd Scenic, Unincorporated Pennington County, SD.

     On July 4, most of the Pine County area fire departments had trucks in the Finlayson 4th of July parade, blasting horns and sirens. Two hours later they were all at a huge junkyard fire.
