IFA Convention is here!

   Greetings Fellow Firefighters - I hope that you all have had an amazing summer! It is always important to take the time to enjoy the days with family and friends!

   By the time you read this article, the state fair has wrapped up another successful year. I would like to thank all that volunteered their time to help with the IFA booth. It is always great to see you all willing to share your passion about the fire service to the youth that walk through the booth.

   Convention is here! I look forward to spending time with you all. As I usually do, I will be coming around to talk to as many of you as I can. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. Each and everyone of us deserves this time to let loose and have a good time. With that said, we still need to show the utmost respect for the committee and the city of Boone. I would like to extend a huge thank you to this year’s convention committee. I have definitely seen the passion within each of you for this event. I ask that each of you that are attending the convention take the time to thank them when you can! See you there!

   With convention comes the Convention Meeting. I would encourage you all to attend the meeting. As the board takes their next step, I would like to personally thank Past President Roger Carr for his service and dedication to the IFA. His dedication towards the IFA has not gone unnoticed. I hope that everyone can join me in thanking Roger for his commitment to the IFA and its members. I have no doubt that he will continue to advocate for the IFA for years to come. I will also add,

“Good Luck” to our 5th Vice Candidate and thank you for choosing to be a part of the IFA board.

   In closing I would like to say thank you to the current board. Each of you have played a crucial role throughout this past year. I look forward to one more year with you. I am excited to continue to learn and also look forward to being under the direction of Kent Brix during his presidency.
