Pets rescued

On Saturday April 30, shortly before 11 a.m., Waterloo Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential fire at 430 Bratnober St. Initial callers said there was a person trapped in a second floor bedroom. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from a second floor bedroom, and the trapped person being assisted out of the residence. Two subjects made escape from the second story via a porch roof. Firefighters rescued and administered aid to a dog and cat. The fire appears to have started in a mattress on the second floor.  Photo by Larry Klodt.
