IFA Convention in Iowa Falls Sept. 5-8

I   Greetings, with all the flooding and the heat please keep yourselves and your people safe, you can’t serve your citizens if you harm yourself!

A huge thank you to Past President Roger Bissen and Vice Presidents Kent Brix and Lonnie Newhall for writing a response to the proposed OSHA ruling for the IFA. We all need to send our thoughts on this and get it stopped.

Jami and I have been very busy getting ready for the Miracle Children’s Burn Camp at Camp Foster in Spirit Lake. It was a successful event and the kids had a great time. We have been raising money and delivering supplies for camp for 16 years and the smile on the kids’ faces make it worth doing.

I am saddened by the news coming out of Strawberry Point. It is important to get a working relationship with the governing bodies that pay the bills and represent the citizens we serve. I, in my many years in the Fire Service, have gone through the group resigning and the aftermath is a real struggle to regain the trust on both sides. I hope that the issues can be resolved to the satisfaction of all.

Convention is right around the corner and I am looking forward to seeing you all for what sounds like another good time put on by the Iowa Falls Fire Department.

   Yours in Service.

Roger Carr,

IFA President
